Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a colorful mix of characters, and a exciting storyline featuring divine entities, demons, and dark forces growing in power within Dol-Makjar.
Note: Revealing details for the latest installment of the new season are included.
The Warrior Group Revealed
Episode 3 concluded with a huge suspense moment and introduced the premier party of characters who will separate from the primary party to embark on their own adventure, separate from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table includes Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (the cast member), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
Given a large ensemble, it was evident from the outset that keeping everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
This explains, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, weaving together the individual narratives before branching into three separate parties: Fighters, Schemers, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
According to the DM, the Soldiers table is for players who prefer a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven narrative style where diplomatic options are rare.
Upon first impression, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might look mismatched, but the actions of the third episode demonstrate why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the party understands precisely where to head next after a violent initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose demise initiated the campaign’s events—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, entering the hidden lair, assaulting the character, and taking all the powerful objects to dispose of.
The traitor then settled his liabilities and escaped to a secure base in the northern region, above the urban center, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each member has a specific drive to depart Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, seeks revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in Timmony and advises that it is a dangerous place.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having resisted his house’s orders to execute Teor and instead freed him, have no other options.
- But, their position as prominent individuals in the influential clan could help the party reach locations they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The fighter vowed a life debt to The savior for his salvation and will now follow him wherever.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are hunted by the authorities that control Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally dangerous:
- Thimble and Kattigan are known criminals.
- The warrior and Wicander defied the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This means them few options but to travel to the remote area in quest for the antagonist.
